My husband wanted this solely for making jerky. I made the first batch yesterday. It was so easy and the jerky tasted great! We didn't realize that you could use ground meat, never having had a dehydrator before, but that jerky was perfect. It only took 3 hours. We just love it. Can't wait to use it for dried fruits and vegetables.
Also, very easy cleanup and it runs without a lot of noise. You do hear the fan, but it is not loud.

After conducting tons of research, I found that this model was the best economically...especially since the family loves dehydrated food which can be VERY expensive in the stores. I just tried the beef jerky last weekend...and now everyone at work wants me to bring in more. This product is quiet, comes with plenty of racks for drying, includes a couple packets of seasoning for jerky, a book with good tips of dehydrating different types of food, and has variable speeds which allow you to change things up. We bought this product to make treats for our dogs because they LOVE the Chicken treats that are sold in many stores here in the states. The problem we have with the "Sold" treats is that they are made in China, and after one of our dogs became termainly ill with an UNKNOWN reason, we think that it may have been those treats? I always wondered why....Do we inport chicken treats for dogs into the US when we consume Chickens every day of our lives in one why or another, so WHY do we inport Chicken treats for dogs? Just my opinion, but worth a thought don't you think?Customer Review: Love it!!

I haven't used the jerky gun, yet, but I use the dehydrator at least once a week and I love it! I make treats for my dogs (liver treats, chicken hearts and gizzards, sweet potatoes, banana chips) and treats for me (pears, apples, bananas, jerky) and I dry onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc. for soups and casseroles. It has saved a ton of money in dog treats alone and I know they are safe!
