Customer Review: One of the best kitchen appliances I ever bought

I own an earlier but very similar version of this convection oven which I bought more than 7 years ago. I would not hesitate even a bit to say that this is one of the best investments I ever made in the wide array of kitchen appliances that I own. If you love fried food but are afraid of all that excessive fat, look no further. This oven will drain the fat in no time and will make your french fries, KFC, beef patties, frozen fish fingers or chicken nuggets (and you name it) crispy, fat free and delicious. You can broil stuff in it as well, though i won't recommend this (use conventional oven to do this). Initially I had a problem with the unit where the heating coil stopped heating after first couple of uses. Nesco was great in sending me a replacement unit each time while still under warranty (they were kind enough to send me another one even when it was out of warranty after I explained the situation). I believe they must have corrected this problem because ever since my last replacement, the unit is still functioning properly (its more than seven years now), but I also use a little trick to prolong its life. I lay at least 2 sheets of paper towel on the tray before using the unit each time. This way all the fat gets absorbed by the paper towel while the unit is running and the fat vapors will not damage the heating coil. Another little trick for all those fried frozen food lovers is to micorwave the food unitl its gets thawed then put the food in the convection oven and run it for couple of mins depending on the quantity of your food. You will love this unit. Its worth every penny. At least my experience with unit has been great.
